Exactly! I suppose it all depends on your perspective

Default My two cents

I consider winter in Georgia the months of December, January and February.
July and August the hottest months.
Georiga's Fall Season doesn't kick in until about late October/early November.

well I have never experienced heat like I experienced in atlanta. Its horrible. At least in florida you can go to the ocean and cool off. In atlanta you can go to a pool but if you like to swim with thousands of people then so be it.

I work in Central Louisiana - I assure you, it can get worse than Atlanta!

LOL no kidding...just move out of the Piedmont into the coastal plain and you'll find out exactly how much worse it can get.

Oh Yes! New residents of Atlanta are probably not familiar with the term "The Gnat Line"

Urban Dictionary: gnat line

I moved to Atlanta from Boston in 1994. I still can't tolerate the summers here (I hate that walking-into-an-oven feeling) and I miss the snow, but I have to admit that I'm spoiled now. The last time I went to visit family up north at Thanksgiving, I couldn't get over how cold it was...and winter was just getting started.

FWIW, I do think we have 4 seasons here. Flowers bloom in the spring, and some of the leaves do turn colors in the fall. The winter isn't nearly as harsh as I was accustomed to, but it's still winter - the days are still short, the nights are cold, and the roads get icy. Actually the ice scares me a lot more than snow ever did.

Ice scares me more, also. How are the icey roads in the more mountainous areas? Seems like they'd be ultra scarey.

I agree, Atl doesn't truly have 4 seasons.

The winter is very tame and the only time I'm cold in Atl during the winter is when there's a crazy wind chill and that's rare.

Seems like Atl gets super cold at night after ever new years for some reason. On the night of Jan 1st, seems like Atl always gets some crazy wind chill, which is the only time Atl has winter-like conditions IMO.

That and the ice that Atl gets from time to time.

Yes it is, which is why the city just shuts down and tells everyone to stay home!
