Why do you babyboomers pick on the Occupy Wall Street protestors for asserting their freedom of speech?

So it was okay when it was the Tea Party oldheads movement, but not okay when the youth want to assert their rights?

The day when that hypocritical nonsense stops...I will be more than happy to back off on criticising you babyboom guys(and gals).

You're still painting with way too broad a brush. You'll find plenty of supporters and crtitcs of the the Wall Street protesters and the Tea Party among all age groups. Why single out baby boomers for your critiques? They're no more monolithic than any other group. Keith Olbermann, Sean Hannity, Paul Krugman, Rush Limbaugh and Lawrence O'Donnell are all baby boomers.

Why focus your wrath on one group? Why give your own age group a pass?

Don't get too carried away with yourself. We boomers have been diligently paying into Social Security literally all our lives. And we've paid in an excess, which is guaranteed to keep the system solvent until about 2040. Most of us will be gone by then. We've also paid for several adjustments over the years.

So maybe you youngsters should quit whining about having things handed to you on a silver platter, and start figuring out how to make Social Security work for your generation. Like we baby boomers did.

Walked past Occupy Atlanta yesterday morning on my way to jury duty at 8:00 am- quiet as could be as they were all in their tents sleeping. Guess they don't have to worry about getting up for work or anything else constructive. While they are down there, why don't they spend some time picking up the trash?

As for still fighting the civil rights movement....what a crutch and a crock that one is. The President of the United States is half black. He was elected by a majority of non-black people. What is it that you can't achieve today? There will always be social issues that arise for all races, sexes, and people of all walks of life. It's called society. So-called minorities today have just as much opportunity as whites do. Now, whether or not individual people choose to take advantage of that opportunity or wait for something on a silver platter is another story.
