You're still painting with way too broad a brush. You'll find plenty of supporters and crtitcs of the the Wall Street protesters and the Tea Party among all age groups. Why single out baby boomers for your critiques? They're no more monolithic than any other group. Keith Olbermann, Sean Hannity, Paul Krugman, Rush Limbaugh and Lawrence O'Donnell are all baby boomers.

Why focus your wrath on one group? Why give your own age group a pass?

This is....interesting. How exactly did Glass-Steagall prevent raping and pillaging of 401k, 403B and 457 plans when they didnt even exist in 1933? Such plans did not gain popularity until the 1980s!

The idea that 401k plans have been raped and pillaged by the financial system because stocks and other investments have been hurt by Investment Banking activity is pure populist nonsense.

Nevermind that 401k plans wouldnt exist if it werent FOR the financial system.

You'll see how monolithic they are once they retire and bankrupt social security, leaving the rest of us with nothing.

Don't get too carried away with yourself. We boomers have been diligently paying into Social Security literally all our lives. And we've paid in an excess, which is guaranteed to keep the system solvent until about 2040. Most of us will be gone by then. We've also paid for several adjustments over the years.

So maybe you youngsters should quit whining about having things handed to you on a silver platter, and start figuring out how to make Social Security work for your generation. Like we baby boomers did.

Name one thing that's been handed to us "youngsters" on a silver platter.

Walked past Occupy Atlanta yesterday morning on my way to jury duty at 8:00 am- quiet as could be as they were all in their tents sleeping. Guess they don't have to worry about getting up for work or anything else constructive. While they are down there, why don't they spend some time picking up the trash?

Did you read my post above? Apparently not, so for your convenience I'll repeat some of it:

-- the civil rights movement
-- the women's movement
-- the gay rights movement
-- the environmental movement
-- the modern public school system
-- the state university system and the opportunity for low cost education
-- the interstate highway system
-- modern rapid transit
-- NASA
-- satellite communication
-- incredible advances in health care
-- the internet
-- the computer
-- cable television
-- the cell phone
-- the end of the Cold War
-- education of vast numbers of children and grandchildren
-- the home you grew up in
-- Medicare, Medicaid, Peachcare, etc.
-- the Clean Water Act
-- the Clean Air Act
-- NHTSA
-- a few zillion other things that to you probably seem like they just "happened"

-- the civil rights movement - We're still fighting it
-- the women's movement - Ditto
-- the gay rights movement -Ditto
-- the environmental movement -Ditto
-- the modern public school system - which is in a shambles...nice work!
-- the state university system and the opportunity for low cost education Education is the most expensive it's ever been, and it goes up every year. Nice work!
-- the interstate highway system - Eisenhower was a boomer?
-- modern rapid transit - One could argue the boomers did more harm than good in this area
-- NASA - Boomers were little kids when NASA was created
-- satellite communication - I'll give you that one
-- incredible advances in health care - Can be said for all generations
-- the internet -
-- the computer Boomers did not invent the computer, although they do deserve credit for making it into somerthing we are now all slaves to.
-- cable television Boomers were infants when cable tv was created
-- the cell phone -
-- the end of the Cold War - members of many generations worked on this
-- education of vast numbers of children and grandchildren - not a boomer phenomenon
-- the home you grew up in - 100% wrong. Boomers had nothing to do with building any of the homes or apartments I've ever lived in.
-- Medicare, Medicaid, Peachcare, etc. Lyndon Johnson is not a boomer
-- the Clean Water Act - Dates back to at least 1880. Richard Nixon, NOT a boomer, signed this into law
-- the Clean Air Act - Nixon
-- NHTSA - Nixon
-- a few zillion other things that to you probably seem like they just "happened"
Responses in bold.

I would rep you if I could.

As for still fighting the civil rights movement....what a crutch and a crock that one is. The President of the United States is half black. He was elected by a majority of non-black people. What is it that you can't achieve today? There will always be social issues that arise for all races, sexes, and people of all walks of life. It's called society. So-called minorities today have just as much opportunity as whites do. Now, whether or not individual people choose to take advantage of that opportunity or wait for something on a silver platter is another story.

It's not about what one can achieve. Racial profiling is just one example of a civil rights issue that must still be addressed.
