You sure it's not a separate airline?

Alaska Airlines does not even fly to Charlotte, let alone fly the ATL-CLT route. My guess is that the ticket you have is a codeshare with Delta.

It's basically when an airline sells seats on another airline between two destinations (ex. Lufthansa will sell seats on United Airlines, Air France will sell seats on Delta Airlines, etc).

Anyways my guess is that a two hour layover is enough time to move between the gates/concourses although keep in mind Atlanta is a huge airport.

To answer the OP's question, I think 2 hours 17 min should be plenty of time (as long as the incoming flight isn't delayed too much), especially if the connecting flight is in the same terminal.

Waaaay more than enough time. ATL is a major hub airport and is designed to be friendly to connections. The biggest benefit is that you won't need to clear security again; you'll just head straight to your next gate. Hell you should have time to take a nap or get something to eat at a sit down restaurant or whatever.

2 hours is enough time for any airport I've been to.

I hate when I have layovers less than 45 minutes and it's a tight squeeze to get to the next gate that's on the other side of the airport.

I seem to have layovers too long or too short.

2+ hours is plenty of time - it's would be way too much for me. Don't worry, you'll be fine and will make your connecting flight in time.
