Nightlife "automatically" goes to Atlanta? Lol. This is news to me.
My apologies, I was under the assumption East Asians were present in a lot of metros around the country, significant populations of Korean, Chinese, Taiwanese, and Indian communities in each (I know Atlanta's well as I am of Indian descent with family there). Vietnamese community in Houston is large as well, second only to California.

What European communities are present in the two metros?

Well, you are right.

In Houston there's a significant population Spanish, Czech, Greek, and French. Houston and Atlanta's Italian populations appear to be about the same.

But to be fair, as of 2009, metro Atlanta did have a larger foreign born population of Europeans and Africans. The majority of both metros' foreign born population comes from Latin America.

i seem to recall seeing numbers for speakers of foreign languages in various metros, from census data, showing that houston has a higher number of asian language speakers, whereas atlanta as a similarly higher number of european language speakers. (outside spanish of course) i'll dig for it later.

I'm not certain, but I believe Houston had around 80K more foreign born Asians, while Atlanta had about 10K more Europeans. So the difference for Euros isn't all that significant when you consider how large both metros are, but again, I'm not certain of the numbers.

Do you have a problem with everyone here saying that Atlanta is MORE beautiful than Houston? I certainly don't.
It's OK you like Houston more, some people like Atlanta more. My point is you got defensive when someone said Atlanta beats Houston in something, You did get a little defensive with the trees and the night life comment. And no, not every everyone is saying Atlanta is more beautiful, in fact I believe posters came back and said it's a negative. If Atlanta posters say something about Houston in favor of Atlanta than somehow it's worth disputing, but if Texas posters say something like Houston is more international which kind of boasting, it's expect no one to say something. Just something I notices.

Well it's not as much opinion as it is experience. What's on paper doesn't necessarily translate into reality. And the fact is that different sources tend to rank each city ahead of the other. It's no indisputable fact that Houston traffic is worse than Atlanta's.
LOL most current studies would put Houston worse than Atlanta and there's margin Atlanta be like 9-10 Houston is like 4-6 ranked. Like I said something in favor of Atlanta is going to disputed.

Where did I say that I like Houston more? Why are you even sure that I'm from Houston?

You can keep trying to make us the bad guys all you want, but I know what the real deal is.

But anyway, I'm not about to get sucked into this game that some of you like to play. If you really think I'm that much of a stubborn homer, then just ignore me, because I certainly don't mind doing the same.

Ugh. My reply wasnt saved. Anyways, arguing about the two is somewhat silly. One because they are both similar in that they are both sun belt, sprawled, car dependent cities. Never been to Houston but if I had to choose I'd pick Atlanta simply because I am from there and my family lives there. I have no draw whatsoever to Houston as an interesting unique place. As a so called density fetish person I would choose places like Chicago, Boston etc if I had to leave the NY area. Comparing Houston and Atlanta is like comparing Philly to Boston. Both are fairly similar and have different pros and cons depending upon what you're looking for. If I ever get a chance to visit Houston I will be interested to compare the two. However I'm not going out of my way to visit Houston and wouldn't for Atlanta either if I didn't have roots there.

Ok i'm confused... Chill I think your a cool poster, I know your not from Houston I said you like Houston more because you say more positive stuff about Houston, in which nothing is wrong with that.

OMG!!! LOL!!! I was thinking the same thing.I thought it was just me noticing that!!!
New York is more international than Paris but stating that against Paris sound silly right it's Paris! Houston vs Atlanta think about that.

I know you didn't say that Atlanta was NOT international "never said any one did", but even stating that is just as bold as, you be missing trees in Houston. Houston is green enough like Atlanta is diverse enough was all I was saying.

I wasn't talking about anything personal I was talking how for so long on these forums Atlanta was use like a whipping boy of traffic, in which Houston posters said It's because Atlanta is not grided that factually worse than Houston I actually started to believe it. Mean while "opinions are opinions facts are facts" Houston traffic is actually factually worse than Atlanta.

I will say I liked Houston a lot more than I expected to and it and Atlanta are more similar to each other than the other sunbelt cities.
