My Fiancee and I are visiting the Atlanta area the first week of Nov. and would like some info. We are looking to possibly relocate.

Can someone recommend a few places to visit that would be within a 1/2 hour commute to the CDC/Emory area and within an hour of the airport. I'm looking for some specific areas (or zip codes), not just "Decatur" but more specific areas. We have been told Decatur would be a great location but for $200-250 we are not impressed with "What you get for your money".

When we visit, we want to be able to visit specific areas of Atlanta to see if we like them. We only have a weekend so making the best use of time is essential. Ideally, we would love the type of houses that are for sale in the 30034 and 30035 zip codes (east of Decatur) but I heard from a co worker that these areas are not great and would be a long commute to the CDC/Emory. They do have some great new large homes for sale, hard to resist. We are looking for a 3-4 bedroom, approx 2200 home , newer style.

Can someone take five minutes and help us out, we are just shooting in the dark at this point.

Thanks,
JJY

Default Thoughts

I gather this is your first visit to Atlanta.

It makes more sense to me to look at Atlanta, instead of homes in two or three zip codes. I think it's safe to say that many people fall in love with Atlanta, but not everyone by a long shot.

Two days is not much time. Look the town over, and then decide if you want to move here. I think you're jumping to step 2 before step 1.

When most people marry someone, they don't look at one body part ( for example, their legs ) and jump right into marriage before looking at the whole package.

No doubt, many people look at one's bank account, and if there's a lot of zeros drop to their knees and propose.

Billionaires do seem to be marriage material for some strange reason.

30135, stay on the southeast side of town. About 30 minutes to CDC and 10 minutes to airport parking - I live here and have left my driveway and been on my seat in the plane in 20 minutes! A good bit of house for the money.

The town of Forsyth GA is about an hour from the airport, about 1.5 to 2 hours from Emory/CDC. I hardly think this area fits the qualifications.
