What is going on with college park though...
I think it was Forest Park. I have no idea what's with that area. The ONLY thing I can think of is that Forest Park has a high hispanic population and many hispanics are religious? At least that was my shot at a reason.

Either way, i'm totally surprised and happy, that everywhere else as a whole agreed to have sunday alcohol sales. You know the next voting day the surrounding cities who did not have this on the ballot will add it as I can only imagine they'll be losing money from folks driving 5 minutes away to pick up their Sunday booze.

But the point is it was a free election in which the citizens could vote, thus they did get to choose. Majority obviously ruled...or not enough people who cared voted to change it. Either way, the majority spoke and that's what it is. If someone doesn't like it they can either drive to another city on Sundays or move. Obviously the people in this particular community see other issues with alcohol sales on Sunday and their voice was heard, seems fair to me. Trust me, no one lobbied their friends/family/etc. harder to vote yes than me...but just because I feel that way doesn't mean everyone else has to.

This is a win... especially on those football Sundays when I forget to drop by the liquor store on Saturday.

Thanks god the majority of citizens approved this bill.

Now, if someone who lives in Forest Park or Palmetto want to buy alcohol on Sunday all they have to do is drive to a neighboring county/city to buy alcohol so did they really win by voting NO?

I bet most people would be okay with it, but again the minority is louder than the majority. That's why they don't even want it to go for a vote (just like alcohol sales) because they know it will pass.
