I am single with one daughter. I am making pretty good money so I can pay between 1000 & 1300 a month. So I need really good school system. She will be in the 10th grade in the fall.

The commute from Alpharetta will be the better part of an hour or more if you work hours that will require you to commute during rush hour. A lot will also depend on how far from 400 your house is- the drive to 400 can be tough.

I am a native and know the city very well. The CDC is located near Emory and housing can be expensive. From Alpharetta, you are looking a more than one hour. Sandy Springs is a good area that feels more suburban but will keep you centrally located. And if the CDC doesn't work out, then you will have an advantage and more opportunities to consider. Good luck to you. You will love Atlanta!
