Hi,

We are relocating to atlanta next summer and i am trying to do research into the areas we would like to live in. However, there are so many neighborhoods, then subdivisions it gets so confusing. We will be working at the tyler perry studio located here: 2769 Continental Colony Pkwy SW, Atlanta, GA 30331 )(by the way what is the name of this neighborhood?). We are moving with two young children and from a great school district in NYC. We are interested in MCM design and would love to live in northcrest but that commute is too far (we understand that it is 40 minutes without traffic, but would be significantly more during rush hour). Can someone recommend affordable neighborhoods with good schools and a reasonable commute to the studio that might have a higher concentration of MCM homes. Thanks!

You may want to ask this on the Lotta Living forum. Several frequent posters live in Atlanta and all the various MCM-heavy areas in Atlanta have been discussed on there before. I know there are some MCM neighborhoods in SW Atlanta, but the schools are likely not good in those neighborhoods.

I live in Northcrest, which is an incredible neighborhood. I understand your concerns, however. Domo Realty might be able to help you find your dream home. Good luck!

Try Amberwood! There are several midcentury homes in that area, and the schools are excellent - Briarlake / Oak Grove. Also, the commute is really easy from that area. I also love the homes in Northcrest but the schools are not good.

Look at the Montgomery Elementary district. I drive through some pockets of MCM homes around there. I doubt the commute would be much better than Northcrest, but perhaps somewhat better because you would have a more direct route to 400.
