A ‘big' Waffle House to open near Centennial Park *| ajc.com

Love me some Waffle House.

This will be Waffle House's third Downtown Atlanta location.

and one on the Georgia State University campus.

Since when? I graduated in 2006 and we didn't have one! That's probably a good thing though...

Waffle House always involves me spending far too much time in the bathroom later that day with me telling myself "It seemed like a good idea at the time...".

Can't say I can stomach much Waffle House nowadays.

But I've always said to be a real city, we've got to be 24 hour. It doesn't get any more 24 hour than Waffle House, so this is a good thing!

Any renderings yet? I hope this is more like the ones at underground/ georgia state and not a free standing wafflehouse.

There is also one at Georgia Tech, its not downtown but it is still good to note. This place will probobly be very busy, lots of foot traffic.

Also i can't speak for the previous coments but most people i know love waffle house, and so do I.

I like Waffle House too on occasions, but right next to Centennial Olympic Park? Really? Is that what Atlanta wants tourists, both from around the country and around the world wants to be known for, a big ass Waffle House? Understandable I guess, I mean lets not forget the opening ceremony to the Atlanta Olympics, high school cheerleaders and a bunch of chrome Chevy pickups. Atlanta, you so world class.

What's with the Waffle House hate? Okay, I don't love it either, but it's a successful restaurant based in Atlanta.

If the Majestic was opening another location here, I bet people would say how awesome it will be to have another location for an Atlanta institution. Waffle House is the same gross food, it's just a bigger success story, so lighten up.

Anyway, what I wanted to say is if this is the plot of land I'm thinking of, it's just an empty space that I think used to be a parking lot. So my guess is that it will be a free standing Waffle House, I don't think there is anything else there for it to be a part of. I hope they make it a bit classier of a joint like they did with the Lindbergh location.
