I am considering moving to Loganville. I checked City Data Forum and one gentleman said there was nothing there. We are a small family with two teens that will probably want to be involved in sports. Can anyone give me an honest opinion about Loganville? The crime seems to be low but small towns sometimes can be dead and unfriendly to outsiders. I'm a Yankee and I live in a small town in NC and it has been TERRIBLE. There are lots of trailers and people hate northerners coming in buying new houses.

I don't know about what's in Loganville, but it's between Snellville and Winder... so that's where it is...

From the little you've said in your post, I doubt you'd find Loganville that congenial. It's on the far east edge of the Atlanta suburbs, verging into rural territory. Most of it's in Walton County, with a small part in Gwinnett County. Loganville High School compares well to others on test scores, is 91% white with almost no Hispanic or Asian students, etc. You will find a strong emphasis on sports, etc. You won't find a lot of diversity, and you probably will find some resentment of "outsiders".

Wait a minute! Loganville not friendly to "outsiders"? I am originally from LI..Not everyone in Loganville is from Ga. There are many "transplants" here like Gwinnett county. I have not encountered unfriendly people here. I have lived in Walton county since 2002, gwinnett for 7 years. We are happier here than Gwinnett. My son loves his school, Loganville High. It is very sports oriented. I would suggest you make a visit to the schools your sons would attend and check them out, you may be very pleased with what you see. There are many new subdivisions to look into, and more being built! Hope this helps and if you have any further questios, let me know! By the way, shopping is not too far either!

I have to agree with rasmom. I live on the border of Snellville/Loganville, my best friends live in Loganville, and it's a great place. My friends have three teenagers and we go to their football games every weekend, go to their school pizza parties, have days at the waterpark, etc. They always have stuff going on. And, I think it's some of the most beautiful land and homes in the area I have ever seen. Two thumbs up from me!

This has nothing to do with your post but there used to be a commercial for a car dealership wayyyyy back when where a guy just stands there and screams in the thickest southern accent "Wherrreee's Loganville!"
just made me laugh to read your post. Sorry I don't have any real info on the area! |

I haven't heard anything negative about Loganville and I have friends that live out there. They all told me that they like it out there. They are also building a lot out there, so there should be lots of new homes as well as resales to choose from.
A lot of the negative comments about different cities in Gwinnett and Gwinnett in general are usually from people that have never lived in the areas. It's important for you to go out and drive around the areas first. |

Sweettea...I think you are talking about Maxie Price, they used to do the Maxie Swing on the commercials! The dealership is on 78 & 81 and is growing! Loganville is a great place to live. I live on the Loganville/Monroe border...very pretty properties here. And as I said before, we wouldn't want to be anywhere else. One of my sons lives in Loganville (3 miles from us) a daughter living in Lilburn, and another son in Buford. Take a visit and then decide....but the people here are awesome!

LOL! So funny! I'm sure Loganville is great. I just can't help laughing when I think of that guy....'Where's Loganville!' Guess it was a good campaign!
Thanks, rasmom! |

populartree2014, Loganville is just east of Lawrenceville, Grayson and Snellville. it is a growing city with Hwy 78 running thru the middle. It has some great new subdivision and some older nice neighborhoods. It has a great shopping/restaurant area. If you are looking in area you might also check out Grayson and Monroe. The schools are about average for the area, not bad. The sport scene is great. if you can't find the type of teams you are looking for(level of competition), there are plenty of local and travel teams for all level of sports here. Loganville seems like a smaller community, but it is a good quaint family area. It is about 45 minutes from Atlanta and about 30 to 40 minutes from Athens and 15 minutes from Lawrenceville, the largest city in Gwinnett County. Let me know if I can help you in any way...Bill
