Petition: Recall Georgia Governor Nathan Deal for HOT lanes; immigration; education.: Remove HOT lanes, and be more sensitive to immigration and education. | Change.org

Why This Is Important

Stealing our highway lanes and selling them back at a variable tax rate beyond the people's control by election amounts to government highway robbery, tyranny, discrimination against the poor, and (variable rate) taxation without representation.
Immigration policy and education budget policy must be approached with wisdom and sensitivity.

This is a petition to recall Governor Nathan Deal for presiding over the "HOT" stolen highway lanes and variable rate tax extortion traffic scheme. However, many other groups, including immigration and education support, desire to recall this governor. Let's unite and replace Gov. Deal with a governor that is not a highway robber tyrant. We'll need 204,875 signatures. Please sign this petition.

The toll lanes were already planned and in process before he was even elected. Georgia had already taken the federal money and there is nothing that Gov. Deal can do about it. The feds just turned down his request to allow 2 person car pools, so they are certainly not going to allow for abolishing the lanes.

Personally I applaud the DOT and the Guv for trying to take some positive steps on transportation. We can't just keep on building new lanes forever.

I know there are kinks that still have to be worked out but in the long run the HOT lanes should be a good thing.

That's Georgia for you. Step down from Congress in order to drop a pending ethics investigation of abuse of power and waste of taxpayer funds? No problem - we'll elect you. But mess with our highways? Look out...

So we can't pin this on Deam? Damn!

Like I said in the other thread, I like having the option to use the lane if I choose to.

Tolls are a fact of life for all major metro areas in this country, and with Atlanta being number 9 and growing, you better get used to them. It's only 50 cents for crying out loud! And the HOT lane is optional!
