You will see similar areas in far northwest Cobb, and across into Bartow and Cherokee counties near Lake Allatoona.
Very true. A number of them are country folks who lived around there but were kicked out in the 50s when the lakes were filled up.

Totally overblown and exagerated. Unless you are a drug addict. Then be concerned....

There are data readily available on this topic and Forsyth has one of the lowest rates of crime per capita in metro Atlanta. In terms of violent crime Forsyth, Cherokee and Fayette are clustered at the top with signifcantly lower rates than other metro area counties. This should surprise no one since those three are the counties with the highest median income households in the metro area (1. Forysth, 2. Fayette, 3. Cherokee). They were idenitifed as three of the five healthiest counties in the state (1. Forsyth, 2. Fayette, 5. Cherokee) by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation as well. Again, no surprise on those measures either since they correlate strongly with income.

People use this site for information when making important decisions. I realize this will fall on deaf ears, but is it too much to ask that people stop posting misinformation? Data is not the plural of anecdote. I live in S. Forsyth. The county is by any objective measure not dangerous when compared to other metro area counties and it is not even close to all white either.

My wife and I are building a house right now near of Exit 14 (400).
This area has one of the safest vibes I have ever felt.

I've lived in:

1) Miami, FL
2) Tallahassee, FL
3) Washington D.C./NOVA Area

If you are considering moving to the Cumming/Alpharetta/Johns Creek/(Forsyth In General), my advice would be......... Don't let the OP's post scare you.

If you aren't safe in this area, I think that you'd be hard pressed to feel safe ANYWHERE.
