There was excellent turn out at the Coan school hearings Friday 16. The superintendent was not in attendance, but his goons were. They never answered any of the people's questions. And why is an ex-principal from Inman M.S. on the board for deciding which schools get money and which close? Seems like a conflict of interest. Anyway there was a lot of concern over Coan and I just hope the board listened. There was so much love for Coan M.S. from the nieghborhoods, teachers, parents, and students.

I went to the SRT3 meeting tonight. It started at 6:30 and I left at 9:15pm. Judging by the live blogs, the superintendent is still sitting in an auditorium at 10:40 answering questions for the remaining parents, even after the power went out at 10pm. So I give him kudos for that and don't doubt his dedication to the process. If I had any complaint, it's that his answers lacked conciseness (he rambled more than most of the questioners), and as a result I think he said enough so that two different people will have heard his answers and come away with two contradictory impressions.

He also needs a sharp spokesman or woman to bring to these presentations. I got the impression that while he no doubt gave a lot of thought and consideration to his proposals, he does a sub-par job at selling them.
