Are you talking about the City of Marietta, or the unincorporated parts of the county that get a Marietta zip code? Got a particular budget in mind?

The bad part that I know of is Franklin Road. Basically, Marietta is a small, working class city. There are nice parts(like Marietta Square, the Historic District). The bad part I know of is Franklin Road. I used to live off of Delk Road. I say it is very questionable. I know that it was getting bad when I lived there. If there is any area I wouldn't recommend living in, it would be Franklin Road. I hear Allgood Road isn't that great either.

Yep, stay away from Franklin Road and Delk Road. There aren't many apartment complexes right off the square, but maybe you can try renting a house.

What is interesting is that one apartment complex on Delk Road, Madison Hills, got renovated. It used to go under the name Carousel Apartments.

I know for a fact Franklin Road is not safe. Delk Road is a bit more iffy. I've been on Delk Road alone in the middle of the day, on foot a few times. Nothing has ever happened. I bought a computer from MicroCenter and carried it with me. No one bothered me and I didn't bother anyone. This was in 2009. Back in 2005 I would have said Delk Road was very dangerous because when I stopped by to see my old apartment complex(Madison Hills), I saw graffiti and called for a cab to take me back to Kennesaw. In my mind, any kind of graffiti = gangs.

if you love the Marietta Square 2 blocks north of the Square are the Brumby Loft Apts, a very nice gated complex. The C building is the best bargain in Marietta, a 2 bdrm, 2 bath apt for about $725-$750/month. Best elementary school district in the city, Westside Elementary. Great management, talk to Jeff. I delivered the mail there for 10 years. Managed by Aderhold Properties-google them. Close to school and a nice city park with a dog park. Grocery store is close by too and 3 blocks from the Jr High, 5 blocks from Westside. And right off the Square and close to 3 great churches-walking distance. You'll love it.
