Yes I have seen a couple posts on here about AGL pass through charges for gas service for my home. I read one post that said if I switch to Atlanta Gas/Light for my gas service I could avoid the AGL charge? Is that a true statement? Currently with Gas South but my fixed rate per therm contract will expire in 30 days or less so looking for cheaper options for gas service?? Thanks !!

No it is not a true statement. AGL is not a marketer they are just a supplier. You cannot purchase service from them as an end user.

So no way to avoid the AGL pass through charge not matter what Gas Service Provider I choose?

That appears to be true. And the pass-through charge is a fairly large chunk of the bill, which makes it frustrating.

I would call around. I just got .511 per therm from Georgia Natural Gas for a 6 month contract. The rates are Very low now so definately lock in for a period of time as the free floating rate is usually a rip-off.
