Work in Buckhead live in Snellville!?!?!?!
Hello all, I am considering taking a positon in Buckhead but I currently reside in Snellville. Is this doable with the traffic? I am working the 9-5....
Do you have any suggestions for any apartments that are safe closer to the city??? Is Decatur good? Its getting more expensive to rent in the city now...Do you know of any deals? My price range is $700-750/month...
THANKS

The drive from Snellville to Buckhead would depend on the time of the day. If there is absolutely no traffic, you can do it in around 45 minutes, perhaps a little less. During rush hour, that WILL double and maybe then some. Don't count on it taking less than 90 minutes, ever. Having said that, many people do that. My wife drives from Loganville... just past Snellville to Midtown and that takes slightly under 90 minutes. Some days though.. much longer. There have been several days where it took 2+ hours. If you have a job where you can get there around 7, then you will shave a significant amount off of your commute. Hope that helps a little.

Also, if you are looking for apartments in the 750 range... it all depends on how many bedrooms you need. If you don't need a lot of square footage, then you should be able to find something in that range. If you go slightly above, you will be in a fairly easy price range to find decent, safe apartments. I have never rented in the city, but had a friend who moved and wanted to stay around 800 with 1 br.... there was A LOT to choose from. Just look around and get one of the apt guides. You will definitely need to drive around to get a feel for the area.

My husband drives into Buckhead quite often in the mornings from Snellville. You can cut a lot off the drive depending on what area you are in. The area around 'Centerville' will let you drive up Annistown Road right to 78 and then in toward the city.
Steven, you must live close to me and my best friends from the posts of yours I have read. They live in Loganville and their kids go to SMS. They live off Pate Road and we live off Mink Livsey. Isn't this a beautiful area? I love driving Temple Johnson to go to their house and see the beautiful horse farms and homes.

dlh891, yes we must live nearby. I am off Rosebud, just above Centerville Rosebud. Yes, I love the drive as well. One of the more relaxing drives in this part of the county. I hate that they closed off Lenora Drive.. or Was it Lenna drive that used to cut from Pate down to Lenora CHurch Road.

Lenna Dr cuts from Centerville Rosebud over to Temple Johnson. That's what I use going to Loganville. I moved here less than a year ago so I didn't know there was any other way. Actually, there are about 20 ways to get everywhere around here, just have to learn the shortcuts!

Yeah..... There is another road... can't think of the name, but its something like that. It cuts from Lenora Church ROad over to Pate. If you come out on Lenora Church, it is just above Centerville Rosebud, and on Pate it ends up right at Rosebud. Partially gravel road, mostly farms... except closer to L.C. Road, where a big subdivision has been built. Yeah, there are several ways to get around in Loganville and Snellville. SHHHH.. don't tell everyone and let the secret out. Where in Florida did you move from? Do you like this area so far?

I have lived in Tallahassee, Miami, and moved here from Tampa. We love it here! We just aren't used to not knowing and chatting with our neighbors but everyone has an acre to two in our subdivision compared with 1/4 acre where we lived in Florida. We have a house on Norris Lake too and we know all our neighbors there, it's much more like we are used to. We are very happy we made the move, we have been coming up here since 1999 to look around, but came up last summer to visit our friends who just moved from Orlando, saw our house, and bid full price. It was just perfect. Luckily, my husband's company gave him a great job here when he told them we were moving! And, we sold our house very quickly down there.
