I am a 27 year old african american male, husband and father of 4 daughters. My wife and I are moving to ATL summer 2008. My wife is a teacher that specializes in EarlyChildhood Education specifically birth - 3rd grade. I am a Human Resource Professional. We anticipate living in South Fulton. I see the growth and potential growth that South Fulton possesses.

We are looking for other black professional families in their mid to late 20s to establish friendships and help us with knowing the ropes when we move. We have visited several times. My mother lives up in Hiram so I have general knowledge of the city but it would be great to meet great people like ourselves.

Default Have you visited ATL???

I believe you will not have a problem finding families like that in ATL. I am not from that area, however i know tons of people who are as just as you described in ATL. I don't think you will have a problem.

I don't think you'll have any problems finding lots of African American families your age. There are constantly things to do here and lots of family events. Just start going to some community happenings. If you go to church, you'll meet a lot there.

Atlanta has a lot of families and singles; and is very diverse and friendly.

If you're getting a house drive through the neighborhood and see if there are kids playing. If they have a community pool and play ground you can expect to see a lot of families. Some older neighborhoods tend to have more elderly and professionals with no children.

If you're buying a condo or renting an apartment you might want to check it out first. Some condos and rentals are made up of mainly professional singles. Again look for the swimming pool and play ground.

Keep in mind crime, too. Some areas have very little crime, while others have a lot. If you Google, you can search websites that pull up crime and population and such by zipcode and/or City.

Good luck. I think you and your family are going to LOVE it here.

Hey Still Looking!

There certainly are AA professionals in that age range in ATL. Myself and my future hubby are one of them. We're relocating to Suwanee Nov. 1st '07. We'll rent, check out neighborhoods/ S/d's and purchase (more than likely in the Mill Creek district) in '08.
Keep in touch and I'll let you know how it goes once we get there.
We have 2 children 1 son who'll be 8 in Nov. and a daughter that's 2. Oh, he's a SR. network engineer and I'm a former marketing exec turned stay at home mom or professional as I like to call it.
Where are you guys moving from? He's 30 and I'm 29...
