Default Where to locate service business near Stone Mtn, Lilburn, Snellville, Tucker

I currently live in Stone Mountain and am researching nearby communities to locate my portrait business. My business does not require a retail or commercial location but I would like to have one in 2-3 years. In the meantime, I need to be able to establish a presence among my target audience- homeowners that are married with kids. My clients are generally professionals (doctors, lawyers, dentists, vet, accountants) and their homes appear to be worth $300K or more (I'm no realtor so I'm guessing). They're very active in their community or involved children's activities. I'm looking for communities with like minded residents. An example would be the the Smoke Rise community in the Stone Mtn/Lilburn area.

Both my clients & I travel back & forth to each other so I'd like to focus on areas within 20-25 minutes of here, like Lilburn, Snelleville, Tucker, Lithonia. For my current needs, I'm looking for communities with active HOAs or neighborhood associations and have newsletters similar to Smoke Rise newsletter. For future needs, I'm looking for areas with nice downtowns or shopping areas. I haven't decided yet whether I'd like to have a commercial house or retail space in a nice strip mall.

Can any locals suggest neighborhoods? Basically a suburban, active neighborhood suitable for raising young kids and with home prices of $300K+.

I would strongly recommend you look at the Northlake area of Tucker. I've worked there both as a real estate agent as well as a police officer, so I have several viewpoints of the area. You will find some very affordable office space in the area and will also be in close proximity to all the places you have listed. You will find anything from an office park to a storefront. The traffic counts are very high in that area and you will find many neighborhoods with active hoa's. Hope that helps.
