I'm a single professional in his 30s moving to Atlanta within the month and just curious if anybody has recommendations for good apartment buildings (or condos I can rent from) in Midtown. My budget is between $1500-2200/month and my wish list includes (1) being able to walk to restaurants/bars/gym etc (2) not being in an entirely sketchy area (3) non cookie cutter layouts would be good (lofts, exposed brick, etc) (4) nice amenities within the building would also be a huge plus.

I have being looking at the new Atlantic rentals that have come on the market and the 17th Street lofts (old ATL lofts) but honestly just haven't heard great things about the Atlantic Station vibe and also Post Parkside but it just seems very basic for the price. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

..yes!! I lived in the highlands in grad school (emory) and absolutely loved it. I just haven't really seen any rental options there for single people (I lived in a house with 3 others when I lived there). Thus, why I thought midtown would be the next best thing.

You may want to try promove

Apartments for Rent - Apartment Locator Service | PROMOVE.com

I met with them a couple of weeks ago to explore some options. They'll meet with you and may be able to find something that fits your criteria in VH, or the next best thing in Midtown.
