Nanny needs help! Driving to Cumming from Gwinnett!
Hello-
I commute to Cumming twice a week from Loganville. I have tried three different ways and all of them are AWFUL. I end up sitting in traffic for 1.5 hours.
Does ANYONE know a good way to go? I have to be there by 8am, and usually leave by 630am.
I work off of 141, on Stoney Point. I have gone 20 past the mall of ga and onto james burgess. I have tried Sugarloaf to P'tree Industrial to Abbott's Bridge. And I have also tried Sugarloaf to P'tree Ind. to McGinnis Ferry to 141.
ALL OF THESE ARE AWFUL!
HELP! PLEASE?

You need to move if you want to be there in less than an hour.
You also may want to try leaving at 6 AM. Traffic does not pick up until 7 AM, so I'm thinking that you leave Loganville at 6 AM to make it to Lawrenceville before 6:30 AM; otherwise you'll hit Lawrenceville by 6:30 AM and, boom, there's traffic.
Again, get to L'ville by 6:30-7 and you're gold.
Try this, skip breakfast and leave early. When you make it over there early, stop an an Awful House for 30-45 minutes.
I lived in 30043 and went to Windward often:
I-20...good god bad
McGuniess Ferry
And the routes that you mentioned and they all were bad from 7-10 AM
You live too far our for that commute.

In all seriousness, I think finding nanny positions is pretty easy. Why not start looking for one closer to home?

Well, have you calculated how much of that $15/hour you are spending sitting in traffic and the gas expense to commute that far? You might be better off finding a place half the distance away for $10/hour. Don't just look at the money but the expense too.

I suggest taking the Ronald Reagan Parkway to Pleasant Hill Road. Take Pleasant Hill north and it becomes State Bridge Rd. Take State Bridge Rd to 141 north. You should be able to access the Ronald Reagan Parkway from either Pinehurst or Webb Gin. IF this way works,it will only work in the a.m. commute because you won't have the traffic from the Mall area,Walmart,Target and Whole Foods so early in the morning.
Ronald Reagan and Pleasant Hill are multiple lane roads so you won't be stuck on horrible narrow roads like McGinnis Ferry.
