Default Active youth sports community/commute to Perimter Mall

I'm new to the forum, and appreciate any advice you can give!

We'll be relocating from Las Vegas to Georgia over the summer - possibly as soon as in 8 weeks. We're hoping for a community with good schools, a reasonable commute to Perimeter Mall (30 minutes?), and an active youth sports community (Little League, Pop Warner, etc.)

Any recommendations?

Thank you!
HB

East Cobb has a nationally known baseball program, and amazing facilities. But, all the North Fulton towns have Little League and Pop Warner type programs. if your child is younger, I wouldn't worry about finding a team, they are all over. And, East Cobb is not restrictive, in that anybody can try out for their travel teams.

Around here, the big thing is "feeder teams", where the middle school team feeds into the high school team. But it isn't set in stone. My youngest was told he was too young for our district feeder team, so he tried out and played for another school. Then in HS he played locally.

It isn't easy to find the information you are seeking. When we moved here from FL I had one boy playing hockey and football, and the other playing baseball and basketball. But once we unpacked, it was as easy as checking town web sites and signing up.

ETA to add, commuting from North Fulton to Perimeter is not bad at all.

Dunwoody! Adjacent to Perimeter Mall and two great choices for kids' football/cheerleading and baseball/softball: Murphy Candler Park and Sandy Springs Youth Sports.

What is your price point for housing and what type of home are you seeking?

Thank you for your replies! I'd have hated to pick an area, only to realize after we move that it doesn't have any community youth sports!

We'll probably be renting for the first year or so. Hoping to find a 4 br/3 ba house for $1,500 - and fully realize we'll most likely end up with a 3/2. I'd rather give up the guest bedroom and have my kids in a good school district.
