The green line on the graphic states the MARTA stations and the caption for that graphic in the article says, "Peachtree Dunwoody Pavilion is located adjacent to MARTA’s Medical Center Station, near the southeast intersection of I-285 and Ga. 400."

They go into detail on how to access the freeway's, but show nothing how to access Medical Center Station. Will there be a direct pedestrian connection, or will peds have to use the sidewalk via Peachtree-Dunwoody? #equalityforallmodes

Well, the legend was about ingress and egress as in driveways/entry points from the street, which could include sidewalk entry. Also, many of the medical offices likely will remain and you don't see too many ill patients using MARTA to get to the doctor.

You have stood out there and counted? I could see many patients using MARTA to get to the doctor's offices, etc. Granted it won't be someone who can't walk or in traction, but people use transit to do errands.
What I am getting at is they are playing up the ease of using the freeway to get to the property, while not showing in detail how easy it is to access the transit station, next to the property.

LOL no but I have a physician there and have seen plenty of patients going in and out of the lobby.

I wouldn't get your shorts too much in a wad about it at this stage. The development is 4 years from completion and I'm sure there will be a lot more to the plan rounded out that includes multimodal. You have other things to worry about for the time being!

With 600,000 sf of office, 30,000 sf of retail, 335 apartments, and a 200 room hotel, it seems like their traffic estimates may be on the low side.

Sounds like Loganville may be getting an innovative new development.

Quote:
A family that has owned dozens of acres near the intersection of Hoke O’Kelly Mill Road and Loganville Highway in southeast Gwinnett County for nearly 60 years is asking county officials to rezone the property so an open space conservation neighborhood can be built on it.

The family has owned more than 80 percent of the 92.74 acres proposed as the site for the new neighborhood since 1958, and the property is currently zoned for R-100 single family residential development, according to Jeff Henson, a representative of the family. The plan is to build 250 single-family detached homes on the site, which is near the Loganville city limits, with 35 percent of the property kept as open space.

“The intent of the zoning proposal is to provide a safe, walkable and aesthetically pleasing single-family community with amenities and passive areas,” Henson wrote in a letter to county officials. “We wish to preserve and protect a large portion of the natural environment, in keeping many of the large hard wood trees within the open space of the community.”

Avalon Phase 2 may be getting an Apple store from North Point.

Quote:
Apple is said to have entered advanced talks about a store in the second phase of Avalon, which is opening next spring and already announced retailers including Brooks Brothers, Urban Outfitters and a beer garden from Hop City and The Spotted Trotter.

A lease between Avalon developer North American Properties and Apple is likely signed, said a source familiar with the negotiations.

It is still drive to urbanism. The development turns it's back on Old Milton and the other existing roads, while trying to create a fake, urban feeling along a few corridors of car lined streets.

That raises some interesting questions.

Where does "fake" urbanism begin and where does "real" urbanism end?

What about places like Midtown or downtown, which most people access by car. Are they also considered drive-to urbanism?
