Last night we went to a cooking demonstration in Woodstock given by Chef Daniel Porubiansky. Formerly the executive chef at Bacchanalia, he has been at local restaurant Century House Tavern since 2013. The evening featured a stunning variety of locally grown heirloom tomatoes, with fresh berries for dessert. The food was fabulous, and it was a real treat to watch Chef Daniel prepare everything in front of us. We love living where we do! We really feel like the area has a great deal to offer us, even tho it's 20 miles outside the perimeter.

Anyone know what the story is, or was, on that rather large plot of fenced-off land between Chamblee-Dunwoody and Chamblee-Tucker Rds?

Sandy Springs is opening its new Performing Arts Center.

Quote:
After years of dreaming and planning for a new downtown, the curtain is rising on the Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center. Debuting Aug. 11 with a “City Springs Day” of free short performances followed by a concert by jazz great Branford Marsalis, the PAC is the key attraction to the city’s new mixed-use civic center — what Mayor Rusty Paul calls “everybody’s neighborhood.”
