It seems like every time I glance at the news there's some cool new project going on OTP. These are not your grandpa's suburbs!

But...but....but.....that's can't be! Everyone knows that the suburbs are just a bunch of backwoods hicks and that the world revolves around downtown Atlanta......

That would be the exurbs, like Cherokee and Forsyth Counties, not Dunwoody.

Not a fan of this type of development -it is basically a subdivision with gates and not accessible to streets from multiple direction. It looks like a tarted up generic subdivision more akin to what you find around sugarloaf area. Also, looking at the plan, I see way too many parking spaces that really should be a part of the greenery instead. There are a couple of potential traffic choke points as well.

As someone who has admitted in the past that you rarely if ever get outside 285, I don't think you really get to weigh in on what places like Cherokee and Forsyth Counties are like.

I agree completely. I have lived in Dunwoody for 14 years and the Dunwoody/SS area for 15. It is cookie cutter. If we wanted something like this we would have moved further north. The city's ethics are also questionable by picking John Wieland (brilliant home-builders, but they were associated with a leak).

The area does need improvements, but I am not sure this particular plan is it. However, it is still better than the apartments that were planned.

Funny how Forsyth County is listed in the top 20 of most affluent counties in the United States (neither Fulton nor Dekalb are on that list). I'd like to be a redneck like the people in Forsyth County.

What's even more interesting is this map.

Note that Cobb, Cherokee, Forsyth, and Gwinnett are in the top 100 of income by county. Fulton and Dekalb are not.
