Speeding Ticket
I got a speeding ticket in Cobb County going 86 in a 55. Does anyone know what I can expect the fine to be? A court appearence is required by me.

My ticket for 79 in a 55 in North Fulton came to $200 and my 84 in a 70 in Henry County was $170 I think. I never get pulled over for doing 100, but I end up getting pulled over twice for going w/the flow of traffic. I think cops are too scared to chase down vehicles going twice the limit.

Hopefully they will reduce the MPH over the limit in exchange for a guilty plea.

Most likely they will if this is your first offense; I just left the courthouse now for another issue but happened to overhear all of the cases going on. If you show up and plea no contest, most likely it will be reduced.

I still have my Ohio drivers license so how is that handled. Obviously I cannot get any points on my Georgia License since I don't have one?

I had a NJ license at the time of my tickets. It will still get reported to your insurance when it's time to renew, and your premium will increase.

WHAT!!! I had the same exact ticket in Fulton (I-75 and West Paces Ferry) and had to pay $399, and this was with a court appearance and no contest plea.
What a freakin' ripoff.

As someone who was run over (as a pedestrian) by someone who was speeding like this once, may I just take this opportunity to say...

Pedestrians aren't allowed on the highway.... so I don't think you're analogy is appropriate. People don't usually drive 86 mph on roads with pedestrians...
