Moving to the area (read thread first) and looking to rent for 1 year. My SO wants to live close to her work (N Druid Hills area right off 85) and still on east side of ATL so I can get to my work (out I-20). We are looking to pay up to $1500, do not care about schools, want a safe neighborhood, and can walk to restaurants at night without worry. I think Decatur and Tucker area most fit the bill but am open for other ideas including specifics locations, neighborhoods and/or websites to find rental houses or townhomes. We do not want an apartment. Thanks in advance to all!

I think N Decatur would be the most central. I commute to the N Druid Hills/85 area daily and it's easy peasy. I would suggest Medlock Park/Clairmont Heights or maybe the Valleybrook area, where you could likely get a little more bang for your buck since you don't care about schools.

HotPads - Map Search for Real Estate, Apartments and Houses for Rent, Foreclosures and Homes for Sale

My wife and I found our rental home on there after getting tired of filtering out all the apartments on craigslist. It has filters that allow you to find only houses.
