I'd be curious on how long ATL retains the busiest airport title. Beijing Capital Airport is catching up mighty fast.

I'd say Hartsfield is a middle of the road airport: Flights to everywhere, but amenities leave things to be desired. I do give it a massive A+ in security wait times, I fly through the lines every time. I also hope they get all the kinks worked out before the new terminal opens -- I hear its going to be really nice.

Many people already know that. Its nice, but thats it.

Some folks always need to prove it's the largest. Says something about them.
Its civic culture. Its normal for people to overhype not only themselves, but other things such as airports, trees, popular/famous humans, etc. Anyway its good that Hartsfield Jackson is getting bigger, I think other call signs should get bigger and flights should be cheaper. I still think that Flying is a little too exclusive & that we all should have the affordable option of skipping town when ready. Its why I love the A830 idea.

Are you talking about Tony or the average Atlanta person? Lets stay on topic. I think Hartfield is a nice airport, but I never get that OMG feeling like when in MIA or JFK and Ive never been in ORD yet and that seems like it have that overwhelming feeling. I normally just roll with a carry on but if I had more luggage id hate to be in MIA.

How can a city like New York not have rail connections to any of its airports? Never realized how blessed we are, especially when compared to N.Y.C.
OH SNAP!! JFK has no rail either??

JFK has rail connections to their commuter rail system and their subway system in New York. It's possible to make it to downtown Manhattan from JFK in about 30-60 minutes, give or take (and all the trains fall in place).

There IS a bus that runs from LaGuardia to the Roosevelt Heights Subway Station and to Harlem in Manhattan, but they're always full and sometimes infrequent, especially the latter route.

And I don't know if it counts, but there's a similar train system in place at Newark too.

I believe that the AirTrain connection is quite expensive. Somewhere in the neighborhood of $6 per person one way. Thats on top of the fare from Penn Station to Jamaica on LIRR or the fare for the long ride on the subway.

Ill take 2.50 to Buckhead.

LaGuardia is just the worst. I went to catch a cab there one time and had to give the cabbie directions to my destination in Queens.

I think rail connections are a must for an airport. Just like in Atlanta, Minneapolis has the LRT from downtown to the airport -- makes things so much more convenient and inexpensive.
