nah it wasn't my comment anyway— i was teasing you also.

i refer to it as virginia-highland, but i don't mind it all that much if someone says 'the highlands'— think of it this way, virginia-highland is hilly, covered in trees and homey, it sort of feels like 'the highlands'.

if that one doesn't work, do what i do— there are two neighbourhoods, virginia-highland and poncey-highland. if someone is talking about going up near "the highlands", just assume they're referring to both neighbourhoods since they run together anyway.

Wow- that's half the size it was originally, but still 70% of the budget. While the architecture is neat, even at the higher end of their 35,000-42,000sf, $70 million is over $1,600/sf, which is far more than they need to spend to build a quality museum. IMO, they'd be better served by a simpler design that gets them more square footage for the same money, allowing them to have more exhibit space. I'm not saying they need to build a box, but they could still build a beautiful space for half that $/sf cost.

Sounds like good news for downtown ATL. I think this attraction would be a another strong tourist draw for Centennial Park. On a personal note, I don't care for the architectural design in the picture, I guess I am old-fashioned.
