My son did, he took 42 credits off to UGA with him. In the circumstance I referred to, the students dual enrolled at Tech. I am not certain how, say, a dual enrollment at Perimeter or Kennesaw will be viewed. Good point, I should have clarified.

UGA is fairly difficult to get into nowadays.

My daughter is a UGA-bound member of the Lassiter (East Cobb) high school class of 2012. One of her friends was accepted by UCLA and wait-listed by UGA. The student averred that UGA has a mandate or inclination to accept students from all over the state, and therefore it's relatively harder to get into UGA from in-state high schools with a large number of very accomplished students applying to UGA, such as the North Fulton high schools that are the original subject of this thread, and similarly, the East Cobb schools. This is just hearsay, but it sounds plausible to me.

On the subject of dual enrollment, my daughter, like Mattie's son, was dual enrolled at Tech in the Distance Calculus program, has many AP credits, and was accepted by both Tech and UGA.

As other posters have mentioned, your information is a little bit outdated.

The HOPE scholarship, and lesser so the social atmosphere, athletic and near proximity to Atlanta have made UGA the most applied to school in the state of Georgia.

It is not just as (if not more) difficult academically to get in to UGA as it is to get in to Georgia Tech.

If you talk to your average north-atlanta-suburb high school student, then most of them will tell you that UGA is at or near of the top of their choices for college. The fact that UGA won biggest partying school about 2-3 years ago has surely increased the number of in state applications.

Hey I graduated from Northview in 2010, its always had a high academic reputation! When I was in Junior and Senior year the school was in HELL! Because the assistant principal that no one liked took over and it was a nightmare!

But in 2011 some of the people who I knew that were seniors said that she was fired and it ended up being true, she was fired and that the new principal is very cool! : )

Yes Alpharetta is a little bit closer to North Point but Alpharetta is not that far from Northview!

I moved from Johns Creek but I used to live literally right across from Johns Creek High School its new they opened the school year of 2009-2010, they had a couple of restaurants, a movie theater, a publix and a target and also Whole Foods and more

Hello, We are looking at schools in North Fulton area. We are particularly looking at Northview, Johns Creek and Alpharetta High schools. I know Northview is highly rated and other two are comparable. I keep hearing that Northview students are always stressed and get very heavy workload. Can somebody give us more recent comparison? Thanks in advance for your help
