The food at the restaurant wasn't good at all. It was more of a social venue, as someone mentioned.

I think the restaurant had a social event every Monday night as well, years back.

Sad to see the place close, but the food/service was nothing to write home about.

To the person complaining about gunshots being heard at Justins, I highly doubt a venue off of Peachtree had random shots being fired on a daily basis.

Justins is almost next door to Houstons and across the street from Benihana's on Peachtree in midtown. I doubt the city would allow consistent violence to occur at such a central/major location in Atl.

Is anybody surprised by this? Celebrity vanity restaurants and/or clubs almost always shut their doors within a few years.

It's been 14 yrs...not exactly a short run given how much the city's changed since he opened the place. His son's (the restaurant's namesake) is headed to college already.

I never tried the food but the venue was nice. I went for a networking event. I did find the bartenders extremely talented when it came to ignoring me while I stood waiting to be acknowledged even though their section was practically vacant. I had the pleasure of two female bartenders who decided to hold a conversation rather than acknowledge my presence. I walked away because I'm not in the habit of begging people to take my money. I tip well so they missed out. I think they just have bad service period.

Mascatlman....some people don't get the idea of customer service. I'm not there to beg you to do your job. Perhaps those servers/bartenders don't realize you make your living off of me (and my tips)...hello.

No, I'm just anticipating the argument.

I know there was some gunfire there on occasion but it wasn't very common, was it?

No, but it did happen enough to compel my friend to call the popo from time to time.

Wonder if it was some of the locals kicking up their heels or people who drove in from somewhere else?

Either way it would aggravate the tar out of me.

Probably the latter since the shots always came from the parking lot.
