True indeed. But would you be just as proud if you lived in East Lake or Edgewood? I've heard some say that Kirkwood residents tend to have a condescending view of East Lake and Edgewood. Not trying to start anything or say anything about you in particular, but I've been told by more than one 30317 resident that they perceive this to be the case...

My mother used to say her friends in Kirkwood thought they were better than the rest of us. Of course that was nearly 60 years ago.

I wouldn't judge an entire city based on a few people you know who live there.

That would be like judging the entire OTP area based on what little you know about it or the few people you know who live there!

I'm sure there are plenty of delightful people who live in Kirkwood who just put up with the douchebag hipsters and others as the price of living where they want.

Interesting. What was Oakland City like 60 years ago?

East Lake has a higher avg. income, Edgewood has made huge strides. I always like the architecture of Edgewood as I walk down Mayson Ave to the retail district. And you gotta think all 3 neighborhoods came together and fought to keep Coan M.S. open.

As a resident of Edgewood it has made great strides. It does have some way to go depending on the street, but its the same way in Kirkwood. However, Kirkwood has moved faster than Edgewood. The entire East Atlanta has grown on the positive side.
