If they were truly civic minded they could easily volunteer without using the name of an organization associated with extreme violence and intimidation.

No. No matter how many times you say it, Blairsville or the county is in is not in Metro Atlanta. Doesn't matter if it was a county away (if that were a real metric, then there is only one metropolitan area in America.)

There is only one thing Blairsville and Metro Atlanta share in common: They are both in Georgia. That's the end of that.

The sad thing is that they knew going in to this that there was no way their application would be approved in 1 million years. It's just a way for them to sue the State/Federal government for violating their free speech? Why? Because they're punks.

Well, it's like most obnoxious speech. You generally have the right to say offensive things but you can't expect people to like it and you don't have the right to enlist the gummint on your side.

It's unconstitutional to deny them access to a state funded program. Speech, even obnoxious speech, I would say ESPECIALLY obnoxious speech, must be protected in a democracy.
