Even in IT, it depends on someone's skill set. There is some good hiring going on in IT in metro Atlanta now in the summer of 2012. But of course, it largely depends on niche areas. I know people who are programmers are finding work, for example, around Atlanta.

I'm from the midwest (Indianapolis), been to St. Louis numerous times. I'd say come on down to Atlanta. lol Depending on where you live here, you can get a "small town" feel. I'd never move back to the midwest, I tell ya. lol
