The issue brought up by running mass transit later is missing another point, what about the employees at the late night businesses. How about them getting home.

Hopefully the people working at the late night businesses aren't drunk, so they can drive home.

But I'd be totally down with making MARTA 24/7, at least for the trains. Even if they only ran every 30 minutes or so between like 12a and 5a. It just might help us get a little closer to being an actual 24 hour city, which I think is hugely important.

Great point. There are many people who work at the airport and at hospitals who need an alternative safe option for getting home.

Your assuming they have the means for a car, but what if they can't afford a car or don't want one?

What if they don't want to drive because there are so many drunks on the road at those hours?

ATLJ made the point he would support a 24/7 Marta. Why are we harping on the late night employees when they count too?

I agree with running Marta trains and shuttles on weekends between 12am and 5am every 30 min. I'd even argue we need the beltline to connect up with nightlife districts and have it run that late also.

End the 50/50 split then we can discuss expanding late night service. Or run owl hour buses to the stations as they do at other transit companies.

This shows how we need to get serious about this. Everyone on this forum seems to think that age range is trying to have kids and go buy homes in the burbs for whatever reason (may be a southern thing).

What is southern about that? Do Chicago, NYC, and LA not have suburbs?
