I am a young (ish) professional that has been living in east Roswell for a few years. There aren't any of the areas that are conducive to meeting other young singles.

It isn't impossible, but even the downtowny areas will pale in comparison to amenities just 15-20 minutes south of here. You have to make a deliberate effort to hook in to a social network with singles within Roswell itself. Best way would be through the growing list of outdoors activities... road cycling or mountain biking rides, volleyball meetups, hanging at the pool at the apartment, etc.

You'll avoid the heaviest traffic times of day, but depending on where you're coming from, "light Atlanta traffic' can feel overwhelming. Maybe take a trip up to Roswell from Buckhead and Perimeter at roughly 1:30 pm on a weekday just to see.

I would stick with Buckhead. Your friends live in Downtown/Midtown/VH and you want to be closer to them. Perimeter is a great area to live (that's where I am), but not as convenient to nightlife.
