Hoping to move over from the UK
Hi Angelstar, Its reassuring to hear your post as someone who has actually made the move. We are in London and to are hoping to relocate to Georgia. How are you finding it and hows Snellville for an area, its actually an area we looked at, and how easy did you find the transition.

We are expats and moved to Atl last year. I'd be happy to share my experiences if you like.Hardest has been finding a good international social circle and diverse ethnic restaurants. Anyone interested in making an effort to meet up?

Living in Atlanta
You all put a smile on my face ... We lived for 7 years in Berkshire and we have been now 2 1/2 years in Marietta, GA (about 20 min from Alpharetta and 45 minutes from Gwinett County) ... I miss my English life a lot ... I am still using English words like boot, bin, jumper, trousers etc ... getting the Americans confused! I was surfing the internet to find a British Club in Atlanta and I found this thread ... I want to hear the British accent again ... Anyway ... if you have any question about moving, let me now ... I worked for a relocation company in England and I am now a Realtor here in Georgia. The way to find housing here is completely different ... You first decide about an agent and this person will find you "the house of your dreams" according to your budget, where you want to be and the schools (yes, to send your kids to a specific school, you need to live nearby). Good luck to all those of you in the moving process!

yeah sure, i'm interested in meeting up. I live in Sandy Springs, my husband and I moved to GA last June from California. Loving the lifestyle but having a hard time getting used to the bugs! Miss british food too. I'm originally from Leeds, West Yorkshire, moved to London for uni.

Hello
Hey ange,
I can't believe I have been trying to make contact for so long and here you are on city-data. In case you are wondering, Lennie's friend. I am so excited. i heard that you and I attend the same hairdresser's, i have given her my contact number to get in touch but never heard from you. Hope to hear from you soon as we live about 15 mins away from each other, I'm just behind the Mall of Georgia. Paulette
