The lots there run about the same as what was posted above from about $50 to $80 a month depending on the parking lot. When he is down there, he will find the signs and contact information for the owners of the parking lots where he can found how to pay.

I agree, and my guess is that he gets a monthly stipend toward Marta and probably not towards driving to work. The tricky park I am encountering is trying to figure out the best schools for my children's needs, the best neighborhood for my family, and a decent commute for my husband.

It all depends on your price range. City of Decatur would be great. Great schools, good community, great areas within a stones throw of a train station. However it can be pricey.

Other areas to look at for good transit oriented commutes would be southern north fulton (Sandy Springs, Roswell, Some parts of Alpharetta), Brookhaven, Extream east cobb, Buckhead, and many east Atlanta neighborhoods ( when in APS, go with Grady High.)

If he's working near Five Points Station and gets MARTA discount, then I would look at a good neighborhood with good schools close to a MARTA station. Dunwoody and Sandy Springs have all 3 and are suburban. Candler Park, Lake Claire, and Decatur offer all 3 and are urban single-family neighborhoods.

I think we are leaning toward Sandy Springs or Dunwoody. Probably SS as Dunwoody is in Dekalb and I understand they are having education problems. It seems that to get a nice house in that area by the good schools, I have to pay $500-650k. If you know any subdivisions in the $300-450k in that area, by the good schools, please let me know.
