I just moved to Atlanta and I have been a medical receptionist for the last seven years...anyone has suggestion on where to look for employment...or know any tempt to hire agencies for the medical field...thanks need work soon

Look in the phone book ... the Atlanta metro has many hospitals. I'm guessing that it might take a while, but that's hard to say without knowing your precise situation and skillset.

Do the old school tactics still apply?

I mean, just go bang on the doors of all the individual doctors offices that are close to you and hope that one of them has someone who just left or is about to leave?

You might just ask doctors how they hire. For example, if you are in a private practice but part of the Piedmont physicians group, are you responsible for hiring your own receptionist, or do you just call Piedmont HR and ask them to send you someone? The first step will be figuring out who is responsible for hiring, which might vary significantly depending on the individual office.

You might want to try online for the different hospital/healtcare systems websites. They have job sections where you apply. A lot of places will not accept walk-ins anymore, they just direct you to a website.
