Georgia needs a little connection too
so Why not Unite the whole state
Connecting all of the various major cities could help Georgia's economy as-well
Id rather Georgia than just Atlanta

A few thoughts:

1.) It's "Untie Atlanta" not "Unite Atlanta".

2.) We're seeing a saturation of the the "Untie Atlanta" marketing plan because, you guessed it, we live in Atlanta.

3.) Since we only get to vote on the parts of the Transportation measure that affect us directly, there's really no point in doing a "Untie Georgia" campaign. This tax passing isn't dependent on all of the regions passing it.

4.) I'm not opposed to an "Unite Georgia" marketing campaign, but it shouldn't be tied to transit. The needs of Metro Atlanta are different than the needs of Metro Augusta which are different than the needs of the mountain communities which are different than those of the coastal communities and on and on....

Trust me, if you get this much squabbling from just trying to get a few counties to agree, the odds of getting the whole state to agree on a transportation plan are that of the proverbial snowball.

Every region in Georgia has the opportunity to pass their own tax, which can... or cannot work into State-level plans. It is up to them.

Well first off... we might have the concentration of economic power, but we don't have the concentration of decision-making political power. Largely, because of the suburban-urban divide.

But... What you fail to realize through state-level taxing, Atlanta is already subsidizing rural roads (especially since we started GRIP).

That is why 8 times out of 10 a rural road is nicer on the Georgia side of a border with Alabama, Tennessee, S. Carolina, etc...

The problem we have is we aren't getting enough money and attention to handle our own growth. That is partly what this tax is about. This is our chance to have a tax where our money stays in the region... as opposed to donating 20-25% for rural roads.

What you are asking for?

Georgia is fairly well connected to Atlanta by the interstates.
