Hi,
Currently deciding whether to stay in current high school district of Dunwoody or possibly move to Sandy Springs or even Grady. I'd like to move back in town and want to know how people feel about Grady in comparison to Dunwoody, North Springs or Riverwood High Schools. Thanks!

People seem very pleased with Grady High School and I would say that it is only going to get stronger as the years go by. So many young families that are committee to living in town but really don't want to or can't afford private school will really help strengthen the school

Grady is the best school in APS and has the best, strongest cluster. The neighborhoods are very committed to Grady's excellence.

The best advice I can give you is to visit the school. It is a great school, but it is a more urban setting so I would imagine it would be different than schools in Dunwoody or Sandy Springs?

Just reviving this thread. Would love to hear from current Grady parents...how's your experience?

I always like to give a little shout out to our intown kids, who typically outperform their peers in suburban high schools.

Not true that urban schools fail all students: Intown white high school students outperform suburban counterparts. | Get Schooled

Facts like these are one of the big reasons why folks like me are so skeptical about the "best schools" lists that are published every year.

Sure, schools with a generally favorable demographic will do well and have a lot of resources, but good students can thrive anyway...

Totally depends on the personalities of your kids and what type of environment they are going to thrive in.
