Default Recent UGA grad needs ATL apartment

I just graduated, and I'm looking into moving ITP of Atlanta. I'm hoping to work in downtown (that's another story), but I'm clueless as to where to live.

SAFETY is # 1
I want people my age (young professionals) and lots of fun things to do. I'm used to a small place like Athens, GA (fun, artsy, local) and would love to find a place similar where I can make friends and begin a career! Thanks for the suggestions!!

Post apartments are all over and lots of grads tend to move there. Web site is postproperties.com. Also you can find people who rent individual units by driving around, specifically in the areas of Virginia Highland and Peachtree Hills. What is your budget? I actually know someone who is looking to rent his one bedroom condo in the Aramore right off of Peachtree in midtown. Awesome building! Finally, look on Craigslist and Makingitinthecity.com for other listings and info.

Second the rec for just driving around Virginia Highland, maybe Inman Park/Little 5 Points/Candler Park and Druid Hills around Emory, and looking for "for rent" signs. Lots of people rent out garage and basement apartments. Midtown is very hip and close to everything, more crowded and noisy, and less safe in pockets. On the edgier side: Caggagetown. Plus craigslist usually has tons of listings with new ones every day.
