I've had no luck finding an IT position in Atlanta after literally years of trying. Maybe IT in Atlanta is good if you have a lot of experience.

And I'm sure the wonderful people in Atlanta's CD forum will tell you why it's your fault that you haven't found a job lol.

Dice.com

Careerbuilder.com

Jobserve.com

Monster.com

Put your resume on those sites and make it searchable and then spam it to openings everyday. Then put it on craigslist.

I promise you will get calls or e-mails from recruiters if your resume is decent. Contact Randstand and Roberthalf too.

Dallas may have a little lower unemployment and some other benefits but dude... it's like 110 degrees there every day. Who wants to live in that? Charlotte is another city that Floridians migrate to. I've got my eye on charlotte myself although I've looked into moving there years ago and wasn't real impressed then but my trip was plagued by problems and that probably had a lot to do with it. Best I can tell it's a little more expensive to live there.

New York City is kinda in a class all by itself and suburban Atlanta really can't compete with that although if you're just looking for good schools, relatively low crime and low cost of living and low real estate prices, Gwinnett is a nice place to live. That's why so many people from the northeast move down here. The cost of living and fast pace eventually gets old I guess.

Does Gwinnett have its own daily news paper?

As I've said before when "IT jobs" are mentioned, there are many variables involved, and the term "IT" covers an awful lot of ground. Not meaningful by itself. Some specialists are in very high demand. Many other IT positions have the occasional opening and a lot of competition.

Yes, experience of some type is often a hard requirement, and often they want hard on-the-job experience (courses and informal experience are seen as nice but don't carry much weight by themselves, something I personally disagree with). Specific industry experience is often also a hard requirement.

Is putting your resume on Craigslist really a good idea?

Is it even possible?

If you want your kids to not know where they come from, then go ahead and move to Atlanta. The leftist PC PR of Atlanta will strip them of any sense of self pretty quickly. Especially if they have any European blood in them. Cant say anything that offends anyone, and when I say offends, I mean any opinion that does not coincide with minority belief,,,,,,,,,for instance, if white kids keep getting assaulted in overwhelming numbers by anyone considered a minority, and someone asks why,,,,,,,RACIST, RACIST, RACIST, that is all they will be labled as. You do not support an elected official with a skin tone other than white,,,,,,,,RACIST, RACIST, RACIST. Your daughter gets felt up in middle school by a bunch of kids that just so happen to be black, and you dont like that, go ahead and address it for what it is,,,,,,,,RACIST, RACIST, RACIST. Verbally express that you are not happy with Obama as a president,,,,,,,RACIST, RACIST, RACIST.
This goes along with the fact that you will be getting your ass kicked, and your home swarmed by a bunch of animals that want to harm you and your family!
So yeah, come on down to the excellent world of diversity and change, so you and your kids can get punked around like some worthless slave owning bigot.
GOOD LUCK!

I grew up in Gwinnett (Lilburn) and really enjoyed it. I think it's a great place to raise a family.

That's in contrast to New York City, which is where I live now. I wouldn't recommend moving here with a family unless you're making well into the six figures. Kids need backyards and bikes and room to run around in play, few of which exist in NYC (basically none if you want to be in Manhattan.)
