Why yes. You may like the meetup group called "Atlanta Science Tavern". It's a very active group.
There's also some groups for non-believers.

There is also the Atlanta Freethought Society. I think they meet every 2nd Sunday of the month. They moved to Smyrna from Roswell a few years ago. They have a building in Smyrna. The web Address is Atlanta Freethought Society.

There was recently the DragonCon. That's a good gathering spot for nerds. I wouldn't mind checking it out myself for the hot nerdy girls dressed in sexy costumes.
