No. I don't want ghetto thugs and hoodrats going to Georgia State and ruining the school. GA State is trying to UP it's prestige, not ruin it. Sorry, but if they really want to go, go 2 years at Clark Atlanta like many do, then transfer to Georgia state.

GA. State is trying to become an Ohio State, not a Valdosta State.

Also, GA state gets many applicants, so they can pick and choose who they want coming into their school. Already 33,000 students go to this school.

You want the to deny more qualified applicants just so average 2.9 gpa students/900 SAT students can get into the school?

"Ghetto thugs and hoodrats"? I don't imagine that is generally the type of student at Clark-Atlanta...there is no need to insult.

I've been to the school several times. Yes, it is. The same females you see with the orange/blonde hair looking hood. They talk and act like it too. It isn't hard to get into that school so they get the ones who clowned around in highschool, but got a high enough gpa to get in. A 2.9 isn't hard to obtain especially taking non-AP classes and that's the average meaning there are several who got 2.5s and stuff.

Keep them at CAU. GA State does not need them.

Okay, you saw a ghetto girl there so the whole student population is that way now. I see.

Come on...you know most of the students there are not like you described. And undoubtedly not everyone you see walking around is a student.

Pretty sure I used "females" meaing plural. It's a large size. Obviously, not everyone, but a large size.

CAU isn't a good school by most people. It's a school where as someone said, they just want the 'Clark experience'. Whatever that is.

Most HBCU's aren't that great anyway. Is this really a surprise though?

I think GSU is trying to raise its US News ranking. It is a research university supposedly on par with UGA and Tech charging similar tuition, so yes, it would kill them to lower their admission standards. As was pointed out above, the academically weaker students can go to Kennesaw State, Clayton State, and if they are really poor performing students, Georgia Perimeter or Atlanta Metropolitan. And there's even the up-and-coming Georgia Gwinnett.

Colleges provide way too much financial aid then what students need. I also see too many college students that may go to CAU, Spelman, etc. Coming from Lenox with lots of shopping bags that get off the train at West End near Clark Atlanta. No doubt some are using loan money that was not needed.

You are just talking out of your butt. You have absolutely no way of knowing where those kids got their money or how often they shop if you don't know them personally.

Ga state is just a mid-level school. It's really not that hard to get into. When I was in high school most people applied to Ga state as their backup school. Clark is probably a few steps below Ga state if anything, but they are about equal except for Ga State is more appropriately priced.
