Atlanta has over 130 Waffle Houses plus dozens of 24 hour krogers. I don't think most cities have over 130 places you can eat at at 5am including Vegas, Miami, New Orleans, DC and maybe Nyc

Sure they are spread out across Atlanta but technically we are a true 24 hour city by definition

I know the haters are going to be

Yeah because people want to eat waffle house all the time in the late night hours...I'd take variety over quantity of the same restaurant.

Basically I'd rather have 50 DIFFERENT restaurants that stay open 24 hours then 130 of the same.

And Manhattan alone has over 2,000 eateries so it's likely they have more restaurants open 24 hours then the number of waffle houses here.

New York City: America's ONLY 24 hour city

Atlanta is more 24 hours than Seattle. Seattle is a city that truly shuts down everything after a certain time, even some convenient stores and gas stations :O. And as far as 24 hours grocery stores go, forgetaboutit. I miss being in Atlanta and having insomnia, then being able to just go to a 24 hour kroger to get some junk food. That doesn't exist in Seattle. If you plan on getting something after 11 PM, you may as well wait until the next day.

Nyc is not 24 hours. Everything shuts down by 10pm unless you are in times square or a tourist or nightclub district. You can't shop at Macy's, go to a play, go to a museum or buy fake clothing on Canal St at 5am. 95% of those restaurants close by 10pm

I don't think Waffle Houses and Krogers make a city 24 hour.

I spent some time growing up a suburb of Birmingham, Alabama. Nearby was a Waffle House, an iHOP, a Bruno's, a Shell station, and a 24 hour take out Libyan restaurant that were all open 24 hours. But most people wouldn't refer to Hoover, Alabama as a 24 hour town.

The only true 24 hour district I have ever been to in America is the Strip in Las Vegas, and even there things tend to be kind of slow at 5am on a Sunday morning.

The sad fact is, over the past several years Atlanta has actually become LESS 24 hour with the loss of Backstreet, Club 112, Club Anytime, and the little businesses around them that kept late hours to cater to the club goers.

Some of the suburbs are actually more 24 hour than the city because they have the 24 hour Wal-Marts and Krogers, plus kind of strange 24 hour places like Jeju Spa.

People lie, numbers don't.

If you add up all the waffle houses and 24 diners we have more than most cities. I'm not going back and forth on this topic.

And stop trying to change the topic

You know, I think that you're on to something. I work at one of Atlanta's many 24 hour hospitals. I doubt that other cities have hospitals that are open 24 hours a day.
