I always like to give a little shout-out to our hardworking intown students. They tend to get overlooked when these "Battle of the Schools" lists come out, even though they are often outperforming their suburban counterparts.

Good work, all you kids and teachers all over the ATL. Keep it up!

Not true that urban schools fail all students: Intown white high school students outperform suburban counterparts. | Get Schooled

This also shows that many of the inner suburban high schools are also performing well.

Notice Wheeler, North Springs, Norcross, Marietta, and Centennial.

Gotta look at what is being measured. It is good to see there are some high performers at these intown schools. However, you can't take much more away from it than that considering the overall school performance is weighed down heavily by other ethnic groups that are not performing as well. That isn't meant to insult anyone, just pointing out the methodology is odd and doesn't really represent the school's well.

I'm not a huge advocate of the private schools, but I am curious why these sorta school lists conspicuously omit Westminster, Pace, Lovett, Woodward, etc. I have a guess or two, but does anyone know for certain?

I don't think most colleges consider only how the white kids are doing.

And I don't think that is the point of my query. Besides, have you walked into Lambert lately???

I was responding to arjay's post, not yours ansleypark. He chose to drill down and post the results of only white students.

I imagine the private schools are doing just fine.
