Hello!

I'm relatively new to Atlanta and looking to find a few good golf courses. Coming from Charlotte, I expected Atlanta to have just as many options but I'm not having much luck. Does anyone have any recommendations? Has anyone played Sugar Creek recently? I just bought a house in Kirkwood (love KWD by the way) and would like to find something relatively close.

Also, I might be interested in joining a club and open to any suggestions.

If you're in Kirkwood, you might even be in walking distance to the East Lake Golf Club: http://www.eastlakegolfclub.com/

Candler Park (public) and Druid Hills (private) are also very, very close

Researchnerd - I think East Lake is private. Do you know any members? I'm curious to what it takes to join given that they host a PGA tourny.

Red92s - Never heard of Druid Hills, I'll look it up. Thanks.

Yeah, East Lake is by invitation only and only available to corporations. Which is too bad because it is a beautiful facility with a storied history.

Right next to East Lake is one of Atlanta's better public courses, Charlie Yates.

The one at Stone Mountain is pretty good too. Very scenic with the mountain and water.

If your a golf buff, it might be worth a couple minutes to wander around in Oakland Cemetery (very close to Kirkwood) and find the final resting spot of Bobby Jones.
