Any one with any information on Marietta Georgia or any neighborhoods?towns in that area? WE have a 4 year old daughter(lots of kids activities a must), looking for 3+ bedroom home with 2+ bathrooms, how are the private schools there and crime rate? Also, are there tons of Hispanics around the northen Atlanta area? How friendly are the people? Any infor would help!

In-town Marietta within the rental areas would have quite a lot of Hispanics. There is less diversity in Kennesaw, but I hear it's nice. In west cobb, there is Smyrna, which is less expensive, but has some nice business-village construction.

Courtesy in all public places is the norm rather than the exception.

I had several Hispanic friends in my car club (back in college) in the Marietta area. They were a close-knit and friendly bunch of guys who supported their families. The Chamblee-Doraville area is where a lot of the illegals live. Have you ever driven down Chamblee-Dunwoody off Buford Hwy? It's hard to avoid hitting the dozens of Hispanics walking all over the street since there are 2 complexes there that are rented out to mostly illegals. Anyway, you probably don't want to be in that area if you're a hard-working Hispanic who's here legally. Marietta would be a good place for you.

Smyrna is almost as "east" in Cobb county as you can get (located just south and east of Marietta), so I'm curious why you call it "west cobb"...? Or is Vinings also considered west cobb these days?

(Sorry... I just thought it was funny...)
