I'm sure there have been written more threads like this one, but I haven't seen any so far.
I'm new in the city and I'm from Spain. I came here pretty motivated but I don't know yet people for going out for beers, to explore the city or going hiking or riding a bike somewhere. I'm in my late 20's.
Dou you have any suggestions? Or are you in a similar situation?
I appreciate new ideas!!

P.S. If you are interested in making a language tandem (or language exchange??) maybe I'm right person.

Cheers!

Start with meetup.com it is an excellent resource for meeting new people and quickly getting involved with all that Atlanta has to offer.

I was awarded a scholarship to work as a Spanish teacher and I chose the States as I haven't been here before

All you need is a bicycle or tennis racket and you can make instant friends! Atlanta has the largest recreational tennis league in the universe...ALTA. The fellows will be playing at every court in the area Saturday mornings and the ladies will be out there Sunday afternoon. There are many 'round-robin' type events held at the tennis centers all around town. You didn't mention your location, but you don't have to travel far to find a staffed tennis facility in Atlanta.
Just one example:Sandy Springs Tennis Center | Contact us: 404-303-6182 | 500 Abernathy Road, Sandy Springs, GA 30328

For bike rides, check out any bicycle shop or the SBL...Southern Bicycle League for organized rides. You've got a few weeks of gorgeous weather this time of year. Time to get out there!!!
Southern Bicycle League

Mucho gusto, y'all
Good luck!

Thanks a lot 10scoachrick! It's very helpful! I think I can get one bike , these organized rides seem very interesting and I'll love to ride !

And maybe this is the time to learn how to play tennis, I always wanted but never tried.

Thanks!
